The TIC INTERNATIONAL CONSERVATION INTERNSHIP PROGRAM offers a meaningful, immersive conservation experience for individuals passionate about marine life, sustainability, and community engagement.

International interns contribute directly to TIC’s four conservation pillars —Habitat & Species Monitoring | Integrated Island Waste Management | Sustainable Tourism | Education & Outreach —while gaining hands-on field experience across our project sites: Mersing | Pulau Besar | Pulau Tengah

This is a fee-based program, and all funds directly support TIC’s conservation operations and local community empowerment.

 

What international interns Do

Marine Conservation

  • Sea turtle monitoring, beach patrols & hatchery work

  • Coral restoration maintenance & reef snorkel surveys

  • Marine debris action plan and coastal protection

  • Underwater cleanup support

Sustainable Waste Management | Rumah Eko

  • Recycling & sorting

  • Food waste composting

  • Precious Plastic upcycling

  • Visitor education & tours

Community & Education

  • Supporting workshops for schools

  • Assisting community programs

  • Beach cleanups & data collection

  • Helping run eco-tourism activities

1 WEEK | RM 1,900

2 WEEKS | RM 2,300

4 WEEKS | RM 3,500

NOT INCLUDED | Travel to Mersing | Insurance | Optional dive certifications

No science or diving background required (though helpful).
